Fighting back from injury has kept me motivated through wanting to prove to myself that I still have more left to give in the sport. Overcoming this has only fueled my determination further.
2. Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
Have to eat Thai fried rice the night before my swim and listen to 'Lose yourself' by Eminem in the marshalling room.

Winning the 50 fly at age nationals last year, my breakout season after returning from an injury which had kept me away from the pool for 12 months.

Making my first QLD school sport team in U10's to swim at nationals. I didn't even consider myself a swimmer at the time and was very close to stopping the sport to continue other interests and this achievement really opened my eyes to the potential I might have in the pool.
5. Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
Surfing and mountain biking.

In my opinion it's all about creating a plan to manage your time wisely and consistently sticking to the structure you've laid out for yourself.
