How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I keep myself motivated by having a goal of wanting to be the fastest in Australia in both track and beach sprinting. I’m also motivated by representing the clubs and teams I represent to the best of my ability. I push myself at training as I have been taught that you will only get out what you put into it. Just knowing what I have to do to be the best drives me to train as hard as possible every session.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
Before any race I like to stay calm and run through in my mind how I am going to run my race in my mind. I also listen to music before I race to help block any noise out.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Being apart of the SLSCC rep team two times and making the SLSNSW state team for the first time taking out the overall Gold.Being apart of the Engine team is also a big achievement to me.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Getting 2nd at Inter branch and first at Inter state and placing first at branch for the first time.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
Going for a paddle on the ski and catching waves with my mates.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
I always make sure I have time to hang out with mates and spend time with my
family.
