How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I stay motivated by setting goals and imagining myself racing well. I love to train hard and work on surf skills even when it's tough.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
Yep! Before competition, I listen to my favorite songs to pump me up and love to have a quick chat with my Dad. Oh, and I snack on my epic healthy lunchbox snacks!
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Highlight would be winning U12 SLS Coolangatta Gold Ironperson. But I'll never forget the time I got stung by a Jimble Jellyfish in the U12 Iron semi at State Champs. It taught me to be tough and bounce back.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Racing well and winning medals in my first few years of State Nippers was pretty special to me. It gave me the confidence that I'm capable of racing against the best and doing well. I'm also proud of the friendships I've built and look forward to many good times in years to come together.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
Totally! I love playing Football (Soccer), touch football and surfing. They're all super fun!
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
My family has a good routine that allows for me to chill at home to get rest, bedtime for me is 7pm. I swim 4 mornings and keep other activities for the afternoon.
What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?
Love my Santorini one piece collection, Engine Weapon Goggles are a must, and the active wear and puffer jackets are awesome!
