How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I stay motivated as I train with such inspiring other athletes that make sure I keep striving for my goals. I also enjoy pushing myself and seeing what i can accomplish.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I like to have the same breakfast and dinner pre-racing as well as doing a certain warm up; board and swim warm up and stretching.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
My most memorable moments would be making the Queensland Surf and pool rescue teams multiple times as well as, having a few podium finishes and states and Aussies.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
I believe making the Queensland team is what has effected and shaped me as an athlete most. Racing against the girls from all over Australia as well as my Queensland teammates that I have grown up racing is always an amazing experience.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I play club and school AFL which keeps me fit in the off season and teaches me skills from playing as a team.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
The girls that I am fortunate to train with are also my very good friends, this makes training more enjoyable. I also try to focus on time management to make sure I am keeping up with school work and sport.
