How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

Training provides me an outlet from other stresses in everyday life. The lifestyle of being healthy and fit is something I have always aimed for and having the ability to keep healthy everyday motivates me to keep turning up. Fortunately, I have my brother who continually motivates me and pushes me to become the best I can be.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

Personally I like to have all my craft well set up, stickered, waxed and cleaned up. I also like to have a stretch/roll and complete some mobility exercises before I race, this gives me a feel of my body and releases any sore niggles or injuries. Music and having a chat with my mates before I race allows me to relax, settling down.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

Winning the u19 Australian Board Race in Perth 2022 was my most memorable so far of my career. This race was also so special as the person I beat was my twin brother, to go 1st and 2nd in such a big event was something to remember forever.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

Winning the NSW u17 Male board rescue with my brother was a defining moment. It personally gave me confidence and supported the hard work going on behind the scenes. This proved that persistence and consistency is key to success.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

I love anything to do with the beach. I love surfing, diving, fishing or even just being at the beach. I also am studying to be a Physio, something that I am very passionate about and loving the challenge.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

I like to write out my weeks and plan everyday as it comes. As an athlete you have to prioritise and sacrifice, choosing what's best for you may be hard sometimes but will benefit you personally in the long term. I believe life is a balance and everything should be completed in moderation, having a life outside of sport is just as important as training hard, but you should always do activities because you love them and you want too, following these rules will make fitting everything in much easier and nothing will feel like a chore or stress.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

1. Shredskin Pro's - super comfortable and durable.

2. Rashie tops - comfortable, great for training and a perfect way to stay out of the sun.

3. Classic Puffer jackets - comfortable and stylish, perfect for racing, training or outings.
