Lana Rogers
How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
Having small goals and big goals.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I really just make sure I surround myself with people who make me calm and make me laugh. I found that helps to make me relax when coming into a race.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Racing the 2022 Coolangatta Gold. I did no training for it. The previous year I didn't finish, so I decided to put my foot on the line last minute to prove to myself that I could do it and that I still loved this race. When I did finish it, it was the best feeling ever.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
Gotta love the Roosters and love, love, love to cook.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
This has always been tricky to do, but it's important to set out when to switch on and when to switch off. That's with training, racing, recovery and down time.
What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?
Shredskin Racer, Royale Goggles and my Backpack Pro!
