How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I stay motivated in training because I find it fun to get active and see how hard I can push my body. I prefer training over racing because even on your bad days there is no pressure, you just have to get through the workout.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone.
Before any big races, I watch the movies Braveheart and Troy. No matter the sport, I’ve done this since I was little to get me in the right mindset for “battle.”
What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I have been honored to represent the United States of America at the International Surf Rescue Challenge in 2023. There I was able to come out with a win in Beach Flags in an international field which was pretty exciting.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
I am still pretty new to the sport and have only competed in two seasons, but after moving to Australia last season I came out with a win in U19 sprints and beach flags and 2nd in open flags at my first competition. That gave me a bit more confidence coming into a new season and country.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Sport is just one of my many hobbies. Some of my main favorites include reading, art, music, and anything outdoors.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I think this is a hard one for me, and I tend to stretch myself too thin. However, to manage my schedules I use Google Calendar religiously so nothing overlaps.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
I think this is a hard one for me, and I tend to stretch myself too thin. However, to manage my schedules I use Google Calendar religiously so nothing overlaps.
What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?
My top three engine products would be the Women's Classic Short Tights, the Women's Hoodie Foam Logo, and the Brazilia Edge Top.
