How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I keep myself motivated by associating with positive and like-minded people, establishing a routine since consistency is essential to reach my goals, and establishing goals for each session in order to focus on the 1%.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I don't have any pre race rituals. I mainly just talk to people on the line to keep the nerves down.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
My notable achievement so far was winning the U17 Taplin in 2024 with by best friends and swim team and lifesaver relay in 2023 Aussies. Also getting selected in super surf league team, and our team winning in 2023.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Overcoming adversity after breaking my foot and coming back after 15 weeks and making all team and individual finals at Aussies.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I like to read and go on breaky dates with my friends. Currently year 12 and aiming for university acceptance.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
As I am currently studying in year 12, work a part time job on the weekends and train, I balance my time with friends who work around our schedules, so I am still able to have fun with my friends.
