How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I just love being in the ocean I stay motivated as the ocean is my favourite place to be, its different every day. I love catching waves on my board and training is really fun. I challenge myself to be the best and most skillful ocean girl I can be.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I like to have lots of fun on the beach. I love carnival days the most, under the tent hanging with my friends and making friends from other clubs. Having fun before races is the best way for me.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
QLD State Championships was my most memorable moment so far getting 8 medals in total and medalling in every event I raced in.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Being undefeated in the board race all season was pretty cool but most significant was racing on a Berg Nipper Board, a board my mum and dad made before I was born.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I love surfing, I compete in surf comps and surfed with my family growing up.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
I train with my best friends and my sister so I'm lucky I get to hang out at training and have fun as well train and compete.
