How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I love the training and seeing how far I can push myself.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I try to stay as calm as possible which means planning my build up to my race so when I get there on the day I know exactly what I'm doing and when.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Being selected for Jnr NZ teams in open water and surf.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Winning the Surf race and top overall competitor after many years of trying at NZ Nationals.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
Love being in the water surfing or bodysurfing and also enjoy taking photos whenever I can.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
Social life and training should be on the same priority level. So I make sure to organize hanging with my mates or making time for my hobbies.
What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?
Club cuts because I can wear them in the pool/ocean and for training and racing. The Engine snorkel, it's the best I've owned because it's so stable and comfy. The Bullet goggle, clear and tinted, comfiest and best looking goggles I've worn.
