1. How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
Setting goals. Careful planning. Listening to my coaches. Inspiration from my heroes. Patience.
2. Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
Spaghetti bolognaise, good sleep, big brekkie, relax & get to the pool/beach early for warm up.
3. Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Winning the U13 Surf Race and Boardriding titles at Aussies 24.
4. Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Competing in team events & relays bring out the best in me. I raced really well at State Titles and brought home a few medals - although the highlight was watching my little sister Clara finish with 9 medals - we both got interviewed together too, which was cool.
5. Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I’m a maths nerd, love surfing & go for the Eels.
6. How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
Although it’s challenging, I try to set a routine for schoolwork & training and enjoy the time off to relax or spend time with my friends.
