I always like to self-reflect so with that I find areas to work on and improve so I have mini targets and goals constantly to keep me engaged and motivated.
I worked on developing a process before a competition. With this depending on the type of competition I will have timing of things that I do certain things, however, I am not superstitious and am generally pretty relaxed.
- Winning the Open Australian Board race.
- Getting 3rd in the NutriGrain Iron race in 2020 at North Cronulla (hometown/beach). That was pretty special.
Milestones that have impacted me would definitely be joining Cronulla and Manly SLSC.
It gave me the opportunity to work with some great people and learn lots of things on the way and even train with some amazing athletes. The culture at both clubs is unreal and it has made me enjoy the sport and increased my longevity. Cronulla has definitely had an impact providing me with a leadership role and have provided me the opportunity to give back to such a great club!
Nothing that may not surprise people but I do like relaxing in the down time, spending time with my wife and dog, friends and family. I also like the beach and even a game of golf when I can fit that in.
I like to schedule my week or day coming up so I know what needs to happen. I make sure I get everything I need done but also allows me to add in what I need to do to balance my life. On Sunday’s I do like spending time away from the beach (or Cronulla) as it allows me to switch off.
The Turbo goggles are a reliable must for me, the new Ultra Backpack is great along with the Shredskins. They are my top 3 picks.
