How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

When I'm training I like to think about how it's going to contribute to my future. If I push myself now, it'll pay off down the track. Adding to the bank.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

I do prefer to stay pretty relaxed. I like to listen to music & chat to friends. I have a few strange compulsions (such as tapping the blocks and splashing myself) prior to big races.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

Probably the 2023 QLD state titles was my most enjoyable meet to date, but certainly winning a couple of golds at Age Nationals was pretty nice.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

Every major meet has shapes me in one way or another. Whether it be some rewarding big PBs or conversely a not so good swim, we're continually learning. Every opportunity to race is an opportunity to grow and learn.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

I actually play badminton at school & I've nearly completed my diploma in Speech and Communication...so I like to talk. A lot!

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

I could actually do a lot better at balancing things, so I'm still working on that. I do put pressure on myself to well in all aspects of what I do. I've really just had to prioritize and decide what's most important that day/week or month. I've had to learn that one 'average' result in a maths test because I just didn't have the time to study, won't be the end of the world.

What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?

1. classic puffer jacket on pool deck

2. Jacquard training towel on deck & micro towel in the gym

3. Santorini one piece
