1. How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I like to think about my goals and remember why I am training hard and what I am training towards.
2. Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I love listening to my favourite music before events and trying to stay calm before my races. I remind myself that I have done all of the hard work in training. If I stay calm and focussed, I can be proud of my results.
3. Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Achieving my first ever National time at Open Water States. Then swimming in the 5km at National Open Water, improving on my entry time and finishing in 5th place.
4. Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
I was very proud to be selected for the State Performance Pathways Flippers Squad for Open Water and State High Performance Squad for Surf. Making the final of the Surf Race at Aussies and realising that I have grown so much as an athlete and can compete at a National level.
5. Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I love playing Netball through Winter and I enjoy anything creative!
6. How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
I try to plan catch ups with my friends whenever I have time away from training and competing. I really enjoy being with my friends and family and love that I have friends from school, swimming and surf.
7. What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?
Santorini One Piece – My favourite to train in.
