How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

I stay motivated by setting short & long term goals with my coach Michael King at the beginning of each season. I train twice a day with a very stronge competitive squad at Burleigh,so for me to push myself I aim to lead a lane at swimming in the mornings and for the afternoons I always focus on being in the lead pack.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

I just like to have my race gear ready the night before a carnival & have it sitting at the front door. The morning of competition I like to watch the surf and hopefully some races, discuss with my dad the surf conditions so I can put my race plan together.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

Getting 2nd in the board at Aussie in the U17's.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

Taking up swimming at the age of 15yrs made a massive impact on the way I competed. That first season I won the U15 surf race at state, the surf race would be the event that I would choose not to even do.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

I love to surfing. I wanted to be a professional surfer, I was in the PBC surfing excellence program at high school.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

This is something I do find tough at time to balance working 40hrs a week, training 11 times a week & then finding time for everything outside of surf lifesaving. I really try to make Sunday the day I catch up with my school mates by having a fish out on the Palmy Reef a surf or a swing of golf.
