How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?
I stay motivated by imagining what the future could look like for me if I continue to work hard and put in the effort.
Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?
I don’t have a set playlist but I like to listen to music before I hop in for warmup, followed by a banana (I always eat a banana). Before I race I like to adjust and play with my goggle bands.
Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?
Representing Queensland in New Zealand in 2024 and taking out the age and open gold in the 1500m freestyle and also breaking the all comers record.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?
Moving up from Tasmania to pursue swimming and medalling at Age Nationals and few months later, gave me the confidence to believe I have what it takes.
Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?
I am currently studying a Certificate ll in Health Services.
How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?
I don’t have much time for activities outside training, but I enjoy hanging out with friends and going to the beach.
