Engine athlete Julia Hawkins was part of the 30 strong The Junior Australian team that finished 2nd at this year’s Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Hawaii. Held from Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th of August, Julia’s individual campaign culminated in making the B final of the 100m free clocking 56.76 and finished 21st in the 50m freestyle with a time of 26.66.

She was able to secure 2 Bronze medals for both the 4×100 Freestyle and Medley Relays. Swimming the anchor leg for both of the relays she was able to step up and produce two solid swims with 56.16 in the Free Relay and 56.36 in the Medley Relay.

The Australian team ended up with a total of 23 medals – 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 11 Bronze.

The future of Australian swimming is in good hand!
