Where It All Started
I actually started surf lifesaving quite late compared to most, after spending most of my school years competing in athletics. I was ready for a change and Surf Life Saving gave me that opportunity to combine something I was already good at whilst learning a whole new set of skills. I instantly became hooked on competing and the team environment.
The Journey Nobody Sees
I think being exposed to an elite athletics environment from a young age really shaped me as an athlete. I learnt good training and racing habits early, and I was lucky enough to train alongside older athletes who became great mentors for me. I learnt things from them that has influenced the athlete I am today.
Your Greatest Moments
Definitely winning the Open Mixed Beach Relay at Aussies with some very special teammates. It’s a moment I’ll never forget and one that means so much because of the people I shared it with. Winning my first individual gold medal at Aussies this year is another achievement I’m incredibly proud of. It had been a lifelong dream of mine and something I had always worked towards, but to finally make it happen when I least expected it made it even more special.
Beyond the Sport
I absolutely love going on holidays, travelling and getting away to the snow whenever I can.
