How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

Always set high goals and visualize yourself achieving them. Also, constantly imagine the person you want to become. Don't think of training as just training; always remember to enjoy it.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

With my usual mindset, I head towards the starting line in the usual way. I don't do anything special.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

I think I will never forget the All Japan Championship in 2018, when Ironman won for the first time.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

Training, fishing and sneaker collecting.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

Since I have a family now, during the times when my family is around, they take priority. I dedicate the other times, like early mornings and nights, to my training. The early mornings before the kids wake up and the nights after I put them to bed are my crucial times.
