How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

I always try to find little things that I can work on with my technique throughout all disciplines and developing new skills keeps me motivated. Constantly improving the 1% er’s!  I love challenging my body and seeing if I can push it to the next level whether it be in racing or training. My desire to strive to be a better version of myself has always kept me motivated making me challenge the goals I have set therefore pushing the limits that create new ones.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

I usually make sure that my body is fuelled and ready for the long day and surround myself with great friends usually helps with those racing day nerves. I really try to picture what the races will look and feel like and just sit and watch the surf conditions making sure I am somewhat familiar with the beach.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

Winning the Board final in 2023. Placing second with my mates in the Aussie Board Relay 2023 was insane too.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

Missing out on the Aussie Board final back in 2022 really made me so hungry. So, I reset and set goals which kept me motivated and determined. It also taught me bounce back and learn quickly, identify areas for improvement to ensure I’m better next time I race.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

Mountain Biking and Surfing.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

Sleep, hang out with friends, and do small activities that just break up the massive training loads. We have the best crew at Cudgen, and they always keep it interesting.

What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?

I’m stoked wearing my Iron Jammers 3, Weapon Goggles and my Puffer Jacket. This combo ensures I’m ready to give it 100%.
